How attentive are we to our own lives? Do you eat when you’re hungry? Sleep when you’re tired? Exercise when you feel sluggish and out of sorts. These are important questions to ask because being unaware of our physical form makes it more difficult to dial into our emotional and spiritual needs.

We may know when we’re hungry or thirsty, but do we know when we feel untethered to any community? We may know when we’re tired, but do we know when we’re feeling disenfranchised by advertising, or violence in the community? Becoming aware makes us better able to take care of ourselves, even defend ourselves.
When we’re experiencing physical symptoms and the medical provider sends us for tests, are we in a state where we can take the reins and guide our conscious self to getting better? We always must remember there is a difference between getting better and being cured. One is a quality of life while we have time, and the other eradicates the immediate threat, but leaves a whisper in the background of our minds.
The writing on the wall isn’t about impending doom. It’s about consciousness. It’s about the rooster of your soul crowing to say, “wake up.” It’s the catalyst we need to take note of every inch of our bodies. It’s the inspiration to allow your creative self to flourish. It’s the inspiration to say out, “I AM HERE.”
